Must-Have Transitional Pieces

Some of us wish for an endless summer, while others adore falling leaves and cooler weather. Either way, there’s no denying that fall is around the corner. The time has come to prepare your wardrobe for the coming change of season, and everyone can get behind that! This is where our gorgeous Prelude to Fall collection comes in. On the menu: colour, length, a bit more coverage, and all without losing an ounce of style. In the spirit of this new collection, let’s take a look at some transitional pieces that are essential for this lovely moment of the year.

1- The Coloured Sweater

The season ahead may be known for its neutral tones, but that doesn’t mean we have to say a complete farewell to colour! As the air cools down, we can finally immerse ourselves in comfy sweaters that are animated by beautiful warm hues and subtle details. Plus, whether or not we’re blessed with a warmer fall this year, a truly complete transitional wardrobe is prepared with sleeves of all shapes and sizes!

2 – The Long Cardigan

Say hello to your new best friend, the one who will accompany you all throughout this seasonal transition: the long cardigan! Ultra-versatile, it can be worn at the office (with chic pants) as well as on a relaxed weekend (with trendy jeans) or even in the evening (with a straight skirt). Since it’s not quite time to bundle up in large knits, now is the moment for a soft cover-up that’s just enough to keep us comfortable on a cool day. Oh, and let’s not forget to accessorize with a stylish belt.

3- The Paisley Print

No matter what season it is, this look just never fails to appear, and we love that! Paisley is a pattern of Persian origin that uses the curved teardrop-like motif called boteh (a Persian word meaning “bush” or “shrub”). Its stunning intricacy and delightfully organic feel are both recognizable and adventurous. It may even inspire us to travel, which is a pretty good sign as we say goodbye to this homebound summer, don’t you think?

4- Pants, revisited

A woman’s wardrobe just isn’t complete without stylish and sophisticated pants. The classic straight leg with pleats is a fundamental piece for your more polished looks. Still, 2020 has certainly been far from ordinary, so why not experiment a bit? From a bold wide leg to a classy windowpane print, it’s time to discover chic and modern pieces that will bring an effortlessly refined touch to our transitional looks.

Bonus : The Reusable Fabric Mask

As we often say, this accessory is far more than just an accessory! Whether you’re heading out to do some shopping or planning to use public transit, slip one of our comfy washable masks into your handbag before you leave. Breathable, adjustable, and even with anti-fog designs for some, they’re perfect for keeping yourself and others protected. You’ll even look good while you do it, as they’ve got just the right touch of style!

Straight from Northern France, Pauline has great admiration for “baked-just-right-baguettes”, waffles, and sweets at brunch. Films from the '80s and '90s are almost a religion, and she adores reciting memorized lines from her favourite movies at any given time. Since she moved to Quebec, Pauline has developed a passionate curiosity for the reoccurring discrepancies between the “current temperature” and the “feels like temperature” advertised on The Weather Network. She also likes: reading in the metro, strumming the strings of her ukulele while dreaming of beaches and sunshine, trips to exotic places, Barcelona and Güell architecture (and let’s not forget sangria of course), cats, Tom Hanks, Bill Murray, and The Beatles.
