Wait a minute, is it really almost September? Where did the time go? As we move into the later stages of summer (a pretty unusual summer at that), it may come as a shock that fall is just over the horizon. Does that mean we have to say goodbye to the refreshing delights that come with these hot and sunny days? Not yet! We’ve still got some juice left to squeeze out of the season, so what better way to do it than with actual juice? Let’s get a taste of five delicious, refreshing, and healthy summer smoothies that are perfect for wrapping up the season.

Oat Milk Smoothie With Figs & Grapes

Have you always wanted to try oat milk in a smoothie? There’s no time like the present! This low-fat, dairy free milk substitute doesn’t even have to be considered a milk substitute. It stands on its own beautifully as an excellent source of fibre, vitamins, and minerals, without any cholesterol to worry about. It’s also great for adding texture and volume to a smoothie, and if you’re already an oatmeal enthusiast, you’ll surely appreciate its flavour. This recipe adds mineral-packed figs and antioxidant-rich grapes to make for a lovely summer treat.

Berry Bee Pollen Smoothie

Yep, you read that right, bee pollen in a smoothie. There’s been a lot of buzz about this unusual ingredient lately, mostly due to its purported strength as a source of antioxidants, amino acids, and other beneficial nutrients. This tasty recipe combines a bit of pollen with berries, banana, and nut milk, making it a powerhouse of antioxidants, potassium, and more. The perfect smoothie for those who adore that delicate balance between tart sweet. Be sure to read up on bee pollen beforehand, though, as some people may be allergic!

Strawberry Chia Watermelon Smoothie

Few fruits evoke that sunny summer vibe better than watermelon. Sitting down in the sun with a fresh slice is pure bliss just on its own, let alone putting some in a summer smoothie. This recipe combines watermelon with strawberries, banana, and lime for extra delicious results. The best part? It also adds chia seeds, which are brimming with high-quality nutrients at a beautifully low calorie count. Blending these beloved ingredients together makes for a super-charged source of antioxidants, Vitamin C, potassium, fibre, and more.

Late Summer Green Smoothie

When it comes to the beneficial nature of smoothies, a green smoothie is hard to beat. Leafy greens are ideal for pumping up the nutritional strength of a tasty blended beverage, thanks to their generous vitamin, mineral, and fibre content (coupled with their low calorie count). Okay, watermelon is a pretty iconic summer treat, but you know what else is? Iced tea! And what if you put that iced tea in a smoothie? You have a one-way ticket to sunny deliciousness my friend. Aside from the many health benefits of black tea, it’s perfect for balancing fruity sweetness with that signature earthiness that all tea lovers adore. This recipe uses peach, mango, cucumber, and ginger to take things to another level, with an excellent balance of flavour that you’ll want to enjoy for the rest of the summer!
