Your Fashion Routine for the Day

Your daily life may have been turned upside down lately, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay in your pyjamas all day long! Even without a dress code to follow, there are many benefits to wearing the clothes you would wear if you were going to work, to the movies, or to a restaurant. In fact, according to a U.S. study on enclothed cognition (the effects of clothing on the cognitive process), our style of dress influences our thoughts, mood, and overall state of mind.

So, let’s get motivated and look our best with some fashion recommendations throughout the day!

8.00 am

After a good night’s sleep, you’re ready to start the day with a smile on your face. On the agenda: sorting through emails and having videoconferences with colleagues, for those lucky enough to be able to work from home. To look presentable and always professional, opt for comfortable clothing with a touch of class and seasonal spirit. Always treat yourself well with a look that makes you feel your best, even if you work from home!

In fact, the same is true if you’re on temporary leave: If you dress as if you’re going out, you’ll definitely find that it warms the heart and uplifts the soul.

Our recommendations:

12.30 pm

After a good lunch, there’s nothing like a walk to clear the mind and energize the body. There are countless benefits to a breath of fresh air. It can reduce stress, boost concentration and creativity, improve our sleep quality, and more. It’s important to take even 30 minutes a day to get some outdoor time, while continuing to observe social distancing of course!

With the weather not quite at its best yet, don’t forget to cover up with a raincoat, a light down jacket, or a belted trench coat.

Our recommendations:

5.00 pm

The workday is over! What’s next? Head to the bathroom and get ready to have a drink with your friends—without leaving the house. A virtual meetup for drinks is clearly the trend of our current indoor moment, allowing you to stay connected with your entourage over the distance. Whatsapp, HouseParty, Skype, Messenger, FaceTime… There’s no shortage of videoconferencing apps out there right now.

Help yourself to a nice glass of wine, prep some appetizers, and put on a comfortable, punchy outfit.

Our recommendations:

11.00 pm

It’s time to curl up in bed! After you change into your pyjamas and indulge in a nice head massage or other therapeutic treatment, fire up a meditation app like Meditopia and gently float into a state of total tranquility.

Straight from Northern France, Pauline has great admiration for “baked-just-right-baguettes”, waffles, and sweets at brunch. Films from the '80s and '90s are almost a religion, and she adores reciting memorized lines from her favourite movies at any given time. Since she moved to Quebec, Pauline has developed a passionate curiosity for the reoccurring discrepancies between the “current temperature” and the “feels like temperature” advertised on The Weather Network. She also likes: reading in the metro, strumming the strings of her ukulele while dreaming of beaches and sunshine, trips to exotic places, Barcelona and Güell architecture (and let’s not forget sangria of course), cats, Tom Hanks, Bill Murray, and The Beatles.
