On December 31, the countdown to the New Year inspired mixed feelings for many of us. The relief that 2020 would soon be a thing of the past was intermingled with the fear that 2021 was just the extension of a particularly difficult year. As we head into February, it’s clear that we are definitely not out of the woods yet!

While the pandemic may be having a negative impact on our vision of the future, making resolutions can help us regain motivation and navigate the new year with optimism. There’s never been a more important moment to set personal goals that will help you manage the challenges of the current situation, especially goals that you can meet without putting too much pressure on yourself!

1. Saving Money

Depending on your region, most leisure activities are probably restricted, so why not allocate your leisure budget towards some more ambitious purchases? With less dining out and fewer movies, you may be able to save enough money to buy a cozy nest, or to realize any other dream you’ve had in the works for a long time!

2. Adopting Eco-Friendly Habits

Want to make significant changes to your lifestyle that don’t involve sport or diet? Make an eco-friendly shift away from disposable products, for example, or buy in bulk, which helps reduce food waste. For the planet, every little thing counts! In fact, we’ve already made a few suggestions on this subject.

3. Reducing Screen Time

Given our limited entertainment options, we are naturally inclined to turn to digital devices to keep boredom at bay. If, in addition, your work requires long hours of computer use, prolonged exposure to blue light could damage your eye health and lead to headaches. Instead, reading books or magazines or even listening to podcasts is a great way to go!

4. Trying New Experiences

Let’s try to look at it in a positive way: If you’re living a stay-at-home life, you can now indulge in those hobbies you never had time for before! 2020 saw a surge in the popularity of homemade bread, embroidery projects, and even learning new languages. It’s up to you to choose which new challenge you’ll take on!

5. Give Yourself a Break

Between telecommuting, shopping online, and supervising children at home, your busy daily life offers you only rare moments of peace. Resting should not be a luxury for anyone, so you should take the opportunities you can to free yourself from your hectic lifestyle. Put on some stylish pieces from our laid-back new collection and enrich your well-being!

6. Keep in Touch With Loved Ones

Since the beginning of the pandemic, perhaps the most difficult challenge we’ve faced has been isolating from loved ones, but nothing prevents us from keeping closely in touch with them. At this time, it’s important that we remain united and supportive despite the distance, even if only by reaching out to a loved one via phone or text.

7. Enjoying the Outdoors

Whether you do it to have fun with your family or simply to clear your mind, getting out of the house can only be good for you! This season, dress warmly and participate in winter sports, explore every nook and cranny of your neighbourhood, go tobogganing with the kids, build snowmen… Anything that doesn’t go against your local safety measures, and always following the appropriate precautions!
